Trimester Info

Ionia High School begins its fourth school year on Trimester Scheduling.  This schedule offers three (3) terms with five (5) classes taken each term; each class is 70 minutes long and attended each day Monday through Friday. 

In view of the increased requirements of the Michigan Merit Curriculum for graduation, trimesters offer more emphasis to core classes, with students taking math classes, for instance, for 24 weeks, while taking electives for 12 weeks.

IHS staff members have found trimester typically offers students many choices, including support courses like preparation for test taking (ACT), provides that counselors work closely with students, and gives added remediation opportunity.
