Ionia Public Schools Virtual Middle/High School Welcomes Students in Grades 6-12

Ionia Public Schools Virtual Middle/High School, located at the Ionia Middle School Art Wing Building, helps Ionia Public Schools accomplish its mission to educate all students by offering a variety of Edgenuity/E2020 classes and hours for students in grades 6-12. To attend IPS Virtual Middle/High School, students and parents must schedule an appointment to meet with the Principal, Mr. Duley, and the virtual teacher, Mr. Noffke. The parents, student, and Mr. Noffke will agree on a certain amount of hours per week that the student will be required to come into the school to work, and a certain amount of time that work must be done at home. IPS Virtual Middle/High School is an affiliate of Douglas R. Welch High School. All IPS Virtual Middle/High School students will receive a Douglas R. Welch High School diploma as well as follow the Douglas R. Welch High School calendar of events.

Middle school age students who struggle with traditional classroom and school settings may enroll at IPS Virtual Middle/High School to complete their school requirements after approval from Mr. Duley.

High school age students who may more successfully complete high school in a non-traditional setting may attend IPS Virtual Middle/High School. The goal of Douglas R. Welch High School and IPS Virtual Middle/High School is to help students attain graduation and to prevent students from dropping out.

If you are a high school age student who would like to earn your high school diploma in order to give yourself an opportunity to compete for jobs that require a high school diploma, allow you to apply for admission to a community college, or make you eligible to join the military services, the staff at Douglas R. Welch High School and IPS Virtual Middle/High School can help you achieve that goal.

The requirements for a high school diploma at IPS Virtual Middle/High School follow the guidelines of Douglas R. Welch High School. Douglas R. Welch High School permits you to receive your high school diploma by earning a total of 18 Michigan Merit Curriculum credits. The credits you have already earned at a different district or school may count toward the 18 credits you must earn to graduate.

Please call 616 -527-3530 for enrollment opportunities and more information.
